Full description
We are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer/Specialist to support and maintain the cybersecurity control environment that underpins business-critical systems and aligns with the organisation's IT and Cybersecurity strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for the availability, integrity, monitoring, performance, and security of the Implats cybersecurity solution stack, while operating largely independently within established policies, procedures, standards, and processes.
Responsibilities
- Apply Microsoft Security expertise to strengthen identity, access, and cloud security.
- Administer, support and maintain the implemented Microsoft Security stack, including Defender XDR, Entra, Purview, Intune, MFA and Security Copilot.
- Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot ManageEngine tools, including ADManager, ServiceDesk, and Endpoint Central.
- Configure, manage, and optimise FortiGate firewalls and FortiClient VPN.
- Monitor and maintain Varonis solutions for data protection and compliance.
- Review SOC/SIEM alerts and managed remedial actions.
- Implement cybersecurity controls, vulnerability management and compliance monitoring.
- Manage domain security, firewalls, antivirus updates, audits and patch management.
- Support IT projects, reporting, governance documentation and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security teams and support audits and training.
Qualifications
- 8 years' experience in cybersecurity engineering, IT security operations, infrastructure security or related field.
- Relevant IT diploma or degree advantageous.
- Microsoft Security certifications (SC-200, SC-300, SC-400 or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with Defender XDR, Entra, Purview, Intune, MFA and Security Copilot.
- Experience with FortiGate, FortiClient VPN, Varonis and ManageEngine tools.
- Knowledge of ISO 2700x, NIST, COBIT, POPIA, GDPR, PCI-DSS, SOC 2, ITIL and SOX ITGC.
