What will I be doing?

As a Maintenance Manager & Engineering you will be responsible for maintaining the entire Hilton Grand Vacation facility, including physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and related to equipment in accordance with the energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs. Ensure the upkeep of the landscaping and guest areas to maintain an attractive property. Manage all rehabilitation, expansion and special projects.

What will I be doing?

  • Conducts a regular walk-through to visually assess the physical structure(s) of the building. The assessments are to determine the level of safety, efficient maintenance, and operation of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment.
  • Assigns and verifies completion of all routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, guest rooms, outlets, back of the house spaces and grounds. Assigns and verifies completion of all repairs, replacement, and renovation projects to offices and employee work areas.
  • Hires, trains, supervise and disciplines all staff under the direction of the Engineering Department.
  • Adheres to all corporate required purchasing policies and controls to include all outside contractor bids, budgets and schedules.
  • Maintains effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs, conducting special training for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy at the property.
  • Informs the General Manager and other department managers, on a regular basis, regarding the specific and overall condition of the building, structure(s), related systems and equipment offering prudent, and cost-effective proposals for maintaining same. Has the equipment and training necessary to computerize the building information and provide reports as requested.
  • Maintains appropriate supply of materials and equipment to carry out the normal day-to-day operating and maintenance requirements.
  • Maintains organized and efficient administrative and filing systems within Engineering for the timely and accurate handling of correspondence, reports, requisitions for purchase, and other administrative requirements of the department
  • Maintains a well-defined, and organized system within the shop for the inventory, maintenance, and storage of all tools, products, materials, and equipment necessary to execute the required activities of the department.
  • Immediately available to report to the property in the event of any emergency which necessitates the skills and expertise of the Director Engineering. By example such emergencies may include, but not be limited to, fires, power or other equipment failures, floods, lighting, earthquake, or other disasters of similar nature and magnitude.

To fulfill this role successfully, the individual should possess the following qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 Years related experience
  • 2-4 years of management and supervisory experience
  • HVAC experience
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Strong leadership capability with the ability to motivate, develop, and engage staff in a positive manner that produces business results. Demonstrates problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Displays effective organizational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines and manage competing priorities within a small team environment.
  • Strong written and oral interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships and negotiate with a range of internal and external clients.

In addition, the following qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience are preferred:

  • Previous experience working as an Assistant Chief Engineer, or position of a similar role within a timeshare or luxury resort. Knowledge of timeshare ownership preferred.
  • Strong Knowledge OSHA and building engineering. Experience with project management. Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, analysis and reporting of financial data.

Certifications: OSHA 30, Universal EPA, CPO

Compensation: 60K - 70K salary based on experience
