Job Title: Database Administrator – Cloud Platforms

Contract: 1 year

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and support cloud-hosted database environments across enterprise platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database provisioning, performance optimization, backup and recovery, security management, and ensuring high availability and integrity of data. This role involves managing databases hosted on cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install,

configure, and manage cloud-hosted databases across multiple environments.

  • Provision

and administer managed database services such as Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database, and Google Cloud SQL.

  • Monitor

and optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and resource optimization.

  • Implement

and manage database backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.

  • Ensure

database security through access control, encryption, and compliance with security policies.

  • Perform

patch management, upgrades, and maintenance of database systems.

  • Monitor database health and availability using cloud

monitoring tools.

  • Troubleshoot database issues and ensure minimal

downtime for business-critical systems.

  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure

teams to support application database requirements.

  • Maintain documentation for database

architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s

degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 3–6

years of experience in database administration or cloud database management.

  • Hands-on

experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or Oracle Database.

  • Experience

managing cloud database services on Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Strong

knowledge of database performance tuning, backup strategies, and disaster recovery.

  • Experience

with database security, access management, and encryption.

  • Familiarity

with monitoring tools and database automation processes.

  • Strong

troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications

such as AWS Certified Database – Specialty or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.

  • Experience

with database automation and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.

  • Familiarity

with high availability architectures and database clustering.
