We are seeking a skilled and versatile IT Analyst with expertise in business analysis to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organization to gather and analyze requirements, work with developers and QA and ensure the quality and usability of our software products. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both business processes and software development methodologies, along with a passion for delivering high-quality solutions that meet user needs.

Description

A national manufacturing and software company located in the Virginia Beach area is seeking dependable individuals eager to build a career in a fast-paced and friendly team-oriented environment. Exceptional attention to detail, organizational and time management skills are a must.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize requirements for software projects.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and user stories needed to ensure the final product satisfies business objectives and user expectations.
  • Lead efforts to document and refine requirements with the team. Define acceptance criteria for business requirements that can be used by QA for testing.
  • Identify and document problems, prioritize based on risk and impact, validate appropriate solutions.
  • Communicate with a broad range of staff to understand business processes and requirements, as well as to share updates.
  • Track system problems to resolution.
  • Responds to inquiries and provide advice to the client regarding current and potential system inputs, processes, and outputs.
  • Conduct discovery with internal stakeholders as well as external clients to define project scope and goals.
  • Works with the Project Manager and Software Engineer to establish timeframes for internal and stakeholder deliverables.
  • Maintains and ensures proper documentation and coordinates or performs testing of system modifications.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of BA processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Assist in creating training materials associated with deliverables.
  • Validate features to help produce reliable software that is scalable for the future.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software program.
  • Experience with MS DevOps.
  • Experience with creating User Stories and Acceptance criteria.
  • Extremely organized with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent management skills with the ability to lead, facilitate, motivate, and organize.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and to creatively solve new problems.
  • Ability to negotiate and settle differences quickly and peacefully.
  • Ability to act as a team player.
  • Reliable transportation for timely work attendance.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field preferred.
  • At least three to five years of related experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with mandatory weekday or weekend as needed.
