Join us as Head of Engineering in our Transportation Project Delivery team and you will have the opportunity to develop and lead the technical delivery of an exciting multi-disciplinary Transportation project. You will lead the Design and Engineering Management on the PMCM Services for the Delivery of an iconic Metro Station in Riyadh, collaborating across all stages of the project lifecycle with the Construction supervision team and in close coordination with the D&B Contractor and from early stages until handing-over the project.

Your role
- Act as the PMCM representative for the Design and Engineering of the Project, being accountable for the development and assurance of the design and engineering brief, overseeing capture, management and compliance of the client technical requirements, and processes for the design and technical assurance activities across the development of the project.
- Foster the integration of the design and engineering disciplines and functions, leading cross functional integration.
- Monitor the performance of the Engineering team implementing continuous learning and improvement in the operability of the organisation.
- Oversee the performance of the DB Contractor in the design and engineering area with the purpose of creating an innovative, safe, value for money, integrated solution.
- Key member of the leadership team combining technical expertise with people management to guide the engineering team for delivering the project.
- Provide constructive and practical advisory to the Project Director and Client representatives for successful delivery of the project.
- Building and maintaining close working relationships with the client and most relevant stakeholders
- Under the leadership of the Project Director, coordinate with the project functions including Construction supervision, Contracts and Commercial Management, QA/QC and HSE, ensuring the defined goals and objectives are achieved.
- Technical Leadership of the Project across all stages, defining and implementing in the team clear goal, priorities, through detailed plans and practical engineering governance.
- Assure the Contractor implements robust procedures and working methodologies for providing technical assurance to their works.
- Lead the review of the design submissions by the DB Contractor for adequate compliance of the technical requirements and client vision.
- Oversee the application of design requirements and standards, ensuring application engineering governance and excellence are applied as appropriate when delivering the PMCM Services.
- Ensure successful co-ordinating cross technical disciplines and technical interfaces.
- Hire, onboard, lead, mentor, and evaluate the performance of engineers, and technical staff in charge of the engineering management and design review. Creating a cohesive design and engineering team including local, national & international resources.
- Promote a culture of proactive anticipation to the technical problems, and practical thinking for problem-solving of technical issues.
- Active management of the Engineering Budget and Programme to ensure on time and on budget delivery.
About you
- Minimum 18 years of experience, preferably in design and engineering management or project delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related degree qualification. Professional registration or chartership preferred (PMP, RICS, PE, CEng, or equivalent) will be considered a plus.
- Talented people manager, with line and performance management experience capable of driving and motivating a team and deploying resources (organisation/people).
- Proven experience of a technical leadership role or supporting technical delivery.
- Proven Engineering Management delivery experience of multi-disciplinary railway, light rail or iconic building complex projects; with particular emphasis on the management and co-ordination of design activities.
- Expertise in system integration, assurance and whole asset lifecycle in major/complex transport and/or infrastructure projects.
- Experience in managing complex stakeholder groups (internally and externally) with diverse outlooks, opinions and /requirements.
- Experience working in the KSA or wider Middle East region is preferred.
