About the job:
A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.
Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require program managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. You will plan requirements with internal stakeholders and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
In this role, you will work closely with our Engineering, Product, Policy, Legal, Partnership, Analytics, Data Science, and Operations teams to create and lead complex end-to-end program initiatives, and help shape planning, strategy, and implementation for the team.
Android is Google’s mobile operating system powering more than 3 billion devices worldwide. Android is about bringing computing to everyone in the world. We believe computing is a super power for good, enabling access to information, economic opportunity, productivity, connectivity between friends and family and more. We think everyone in the world should have access to the best computing has to offer. We provide the platform for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and developers to build compelling computing devices (smartphones, tablets, TVs, wearables, etc) that run the best apps/services for everyone in the world.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of agentic AI safety projects within the Android App and Ecosystem Trust Product and Engineering teams.
- Be responsible for project/launch planning, setting milestones, project tracking, risk mitigation, launch execution and status communication for initiatives which range from infrastructure improvements to user facing feature developments.
- Use thought leadership, technical judgment and business acumen to drive project planning and delivery, working closely and effectively with cross-functional multidisciplinary teams and executives.
- Build strong partnerships to drive process improvements and program governance that lead to better quality, visibility, and increased velocity and productivity.
- Navigate multiple interdependent teams, technical concepts, and conversations across different areas and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.
