Canada Life UK looks after the retirement, investment and protection needs of individuals, families and companies. We help to build better futures for our customers, our intermediaries and our employees by operating as a modern, agile and welcoming organisation.
Part of our parent company Great-West Lifeco, Canada Life UK has operated in the United Kingdom since 1903. We have hundreds of respected and supported employees committed to doing the right thing for our customers and colleagues.
Canada Life UK is transforming to create a more customer-focused business by providing our customers with expertise on financial and tax planning, offering home finance and annuities propositions, and providing collective fund solutions to third party customers.
Job Purpose
We are looking for a high-calibre Business Analyst to join our Wealth Value Stream, helping to shape and deliver strategic change that supports the future growth and evolution of our Wealth business.
This is not a traditional business analysis role focused solely on producing documentation and requirements. We are looking for someone who can operate effectively in a modern delivery environment, working across agile product teams, business stakeholders and technology partners to solve complex problems, improve customer and adviser experiences, and deliver tangible business outcomes.
You'll be comfortable navigating ambiguity, challenging constructively, and translating strategic objectives into clear and actionable requirements. You'll bring strong analytical skills, curiosity and commercial awareness, with the ability to connect business needs, customer outcomes and delivery priorities. Rather than simply capturing requirements, you'll help shape solutions that create measurable value for customers, advisers and the business.
What you'll do
As part of the Wealth Value Stream, you'll work across a range of initiatives supporting the development and enhancement of our Wealth propositions, customer journeys, digital capabilities and operational processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Working with stakeholders across Wealth, Operations, Technology and Change to understand opportunities, challenges and business objectives.
- Eliciting, analysing and documenting business, customer and operational requirements.
- Supporting the development of business cases, solution options and value-based recommendations.
- Mapping and improving business processes, customer journeys and operational workflows.
- Collaborating with Product Owners, Value Stream Leads, delivery teams and subject matter experts to refine priorities and outcomes.
- Producing high-quality analysis artefacts, including requirements, user stories, process maps and acceptance criteria.
- Supporting testing, business readiness and implementation activities to ensure successful adoption of change.
- Using data and insight to identify trends, validate assumptions and support decision-making.
- Helping ensure solutions meet regulatory, risk and compliance obligations while delivering positive customer outcomes.
What we're looking for
We're interested in talented Business Analysts who combine strong analytical capability with excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
You'll ideally bring:
- Previous Business Analysis experience within financial services, wealth management, pensions, investments or regulated environments.
- Experience working within agile, product-led or value stream aligned delivery models.
- Strong requirements elicitation, process modelling and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Experience translating complex business challenges into practical, deliverable solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, outcome-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Confidence working with data to support analysis and decision-making.
Why join us
The Wealth Value Stream is at the heart of shaping the future of our Wealth proposition and customer experience. You'll have the opportunity to influence strategic outcomes, work with senior stakeholders across the organisation and play a key role in delivering meaningful change that benefits customers, advisers and the wider business.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, forward-thinking team where you'll be empowered to challenge, innovate and help deliver the next generation of Wealth capabilities.
