As a Senior Data Analyst, you will use advanced SQL and analytical skills to extract, transform and interpret data from large relational databases. You will design intuitive dashboards that turn complex data into clear, actionable insight, helping the business understand performance, identify trends, spot risks and opportunities, and make informed decisions.
You will ensure data accuracy and integrity by developing efficient SQL scripts for analysis, reporting and troubleshooting. Working closely with Data Engineers and the wider Tech team, you will streamline data processes, contribute to data models and provide insight that supports business decision-making.

Essential Functions of the Job:
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and understand business needs. · Write, optimise and maintain complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation and analysis across large datasets. · Clean, analyse and transform large and complex datasets into accurate, actionable information. · Identify trends, patterns and correlations in data to uncover insights that support business decision-making. · Perform ad hoc data analysis and provide clear recommendations based on findings. · Produce visually clear, engaging and user-friendly dashboards. · Validate data accuracy and quality to support reliable reporting. · Stay up to date with industry trends and best practice in data visualisation and analytics. · Present findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise way. · Coach and mentor colleagues and new starters on data topics, helping the business unlock greater value from data. · Support improvements to data processes, reporting models and analytical ways of working.
Skills & Experience Required:
· Proven experience as a Data Analyst or similar role, with a focus on data visualisation using Tableau. · Strong knowledge of SQL, with Python, R or similar programming languages desirable. · Demonstrated ability to write and optimise complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation and analysis. · Experience working with large, structured datasets and producing accurate reporting outputs. · Strong technical background, with excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail. · Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex information to non-technical stakeholders. · Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and confidence working across multiple web-based platforms. · Experience using a CRM system is desirable. · Degree-level education in a numerical subject, with a STEM degree desirable. · Self-starter who takes ownership, creates solutions and improves business processes. · Able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritising workload effectively with minimal supervision. · Able to coach and mentor colleagues across the business on data topics. · Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and responding to changing business needs. · Experience in the electricity or gas industry is not required, but is preferred. · Interest in developing knowledge across commercial decision-making, wholesale markets, non-commodities, forecasting, analytics and energy regulation.
