We’re seeking a motivated senior engineer/project managers with proven business development capabilities. You bring extensive technical expertise and the ability to guide projects from concept through completion. You thrive in a dynamic environment that blends fieldwork, business development, and office collaboration, and you’ve built a reputation for developing loyal client relationships through your insight, responsiveness, and hands-on approach.
Working closely with engineers, project managers, and technical staff, the successful candidate will support the delivery of projects throughout the Kamloops and Thompson-Nicola region, including neighboring communities, First Nations, and regional districts. Responsibilities include providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff while serving as Engineer of Record (EoR) and/or delivering design engineering support across a range of infrastructure and development projects.
What a day at EXP could have in store for you
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership, mentorship, and performance guidance to Engineers, EITs, and Technicians
- Champion and uphold all Safety and Quality standards across branch operations and project delivery
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through project engagement, industry events, and business development initiatives
- Represent the Branch through community involvement and volunteer activities that enhance visibility and reputation
- Prepare geotechnical proposals, scopes of work, and project budgets.
- Support and coordinate geotechnical site investigations.
- Perform geotechnical analyses and prepare technical reports.
- Assist in the development of design submissions, including Issued for Permit (IFP) and Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings.
- Prepare Letters of Assurance for submission to Building Authorities, as required.
- Participate in construction meetings and provide technical support throughout project delivery.
- Conduct field reviews to support Engineer of Record (EoR) quality assurance activities and prepare field review reports.
- Prepare technical memoranda, design letters, and construction-related documentation, as required.
- Prepare Letters of Compliance for submission to Building Authorities, as required.
- Support project closeout activities, including the preparation of record and completion documentation.
What your experience looks like
- Registered P.Eng. with EGBC, or the ability to transfer an existing P.Eng. designation
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geological/Geotechnical Engineering
- 8–10 years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience, including work on mid‑rise, commercial, subdivision, and municipal/highway infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated practical, solutions‑focused approach to project execution and management
- Comfortable conducting fieldwork, site reviews, and engaging directly with clients
- Strong understanding of materials testing, construction quality, and geotechnical investigation methods
- Experience with shoring systems for parkades or geohazard mitigation in wildfire‑prone areas considered an asset

The salary range for this role is between $112,787-$149,509. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
