Second Foundation is an international energy trading and asset management firm headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic, with offices in Switzerland, Germany, Japan and the US. Our team of 500 professionals specializes in power trading, transforming complex data into market-leading trading strategies through advanced technology and sophisticated quantitative modeling.

We are seeking an Analyst to join us in the management of our renewables’ portfolio and development of new products. The role is key to translate results of the Reporting and VPP teams into action (e.g. pruning portfolio from nonprofitable and badly behaving plants, follow up with relevant teams in case of a plant underperformance), keep acquisition cost of new assets low through development and implementation of new Origination products and collaborate with other teams when achieving operational efficiency.

What would you work on?

  • Monitor and maximize the PnL performance of assets in Second Foundation’s portfolio by maintaining a healthy and profitable portfolio.
  • Track portfolio acquisition progress against targets and contribute to pricing and bidding strategies.
  • Develop and coordinate implementation of new products that support the Origination business.
  • Collaborate with teams across the company, including Sales, TSS, Assets Analytics, Assets Reporting, DEV, Finance and Accounting.

What makes you a great candidate?

  • University degree in a quantitative field (mathematics, physics, computer science, economics or similar).
  • Basics in computer programming (Python, SQL) and a usual office suite (Excel)
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and clear fluency communication in English.
  • Bonus points for experience in power or renewables markets, business reporting/controlling, and German language skills.
