Step into the role
The Risk Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining a structured and proactive risk management process at programme level. You will consolidate and analyse risks across projects, internal operations, suppliers and external stakeholders to provide management and customers with a comprehensive overview of programme risk exposure. You will also identify risks and dependencies across projects, ensure significant risks are escalated and provide advice to management, project teams and customers to support informed decision-making.
The role involves close collaboration with Program and Project Managers, as well as other key stakeholders, including Systems Engineering Manager, Requirements & Test Manager and Design & Documentation Manager, to ensure a consistent approach to identifying, assessing, mitigating and reporting risks.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and continuously develop a consistent risk management framework, ensuring risk management is integrated into programme governance and decision-making.
- Lead and facilitate risk reviews and workshops, supporting Project Managers in identifying, assessing and mitigating risks.
- Consolidate risks from projects, delivery organizations, suppliers and external stakeholders into a single program risk register.
- Identify emerging risks, trends and dependencies, and recommend preventive actions and improvements.
- Prepare and present risk reports to management, steering committees and customers, providing clear insights into risk exposure and mitigation progress.
- Ensure significant risks have clear ownership, mitigation plans and follow-up activities, driving accountability and effective risk treatment.
- Support customer-facing risk discussions and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote transparency and alignment.
- Provide risk-related advice to programme and project management, supporting strategic planning and continuous improvement.
What you bring
- 5+ years of experience in risk management, project management, program management or PMO environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, Systems Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience managing risks in complex projects, programs or portfolios involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of project governance, risk management principles and decision-making processes.
- Experience facilitating workshops, risk reviews and stakeholder discussions.
- Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with management teams and customers.
- Experience working in structured delivery environments and collaborating with suppliers, partners and customer organizations.
- Ability to work independently and drive follow-up, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English, written and spoken.
It is considered a merit if you have
- Experience in defense, ruggedized IT, or mission-critical systems.
- Experience working in customer-facing B2B and/or B2G programs.
- Familiarity with systems engineering lifecycle, configuration management and program governance.
- Experience from complex delivery organizations involving multiple suppliers and subcontractors.
- Experience with PMO, planning and reporting tools.
