Full description

CTG is seeking to fill a Senior DevOps Modernization Consultant position for our client.

Location: Remote Duration: Ongoing Contract

Duties:

  • Lead and support mainframe modernization and SCM migration projects, including Endevor to DBB, Git, and IDD migrations.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and support DBB, Git, IDD, and related tools in IBM z/OS environments.
  • Analyze, convert, validate, and troubleshoot Endevor applications and migration-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain Groovy scripts, YAML configurations, Git repositories, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Debug failed builds and pipelines and resolve technical issues across the application lifecycle.
  • Conduct customer training, knowledge transfer sessions, and technical presentations.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and client stakeholders to deliver successful modernization and migration projects.
  • Document migration processes, technical resolutions, best practices, and troubleshooting procedures.

Skills:

  • IBM z/OS, Endevor, DBB, Git, IDD, SCM, and mainframe modernization.
  • Strong Groovy scripting and YAML experience.
  • Hands-on Git experience, including repositories and branching strategies.
  • CI/CD pipeline troubleshooting, build debugging, and problem determination.
  • Application development, systems programming, change management, and application lifecycle management.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and customer-facing communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with global technical teams.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience as a Systems Programmer, Application Developer, DevOps Engineer, or similar technical role.
  • Proven experience installing, configuring, and migrating solutions within IBM z/OS environments.
  • Experience with Endevor application analysis, conversion, validation, and SCM modernization.
  • 4+ years of customer-facing consulting or technical client support experience preferred.
  • Experience delivering technical training, presentations, and knowledge transfer.
  • Hands-on experience with DBB, Git, IDD, mainframe modernization, SCM, and DevOps practices preferred.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $75.00 to $100.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
