Full description

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Lead Business Intelligence Analyst to join our growing Data & Business Intelligence team. In this high-impact leadership role, you won't just deliver insights—you'll define how we deliver them. You will serve as the technical and strategic leader for the Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE), driving the direction, governance, and administration of our entire BI toolset. Leveraging your deep expertise in data analysis and visualization, especially within Sigma, you will elevate our self-service analytics capabilities and empower critical decision-making across the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) landscape. This role reports to the Director of Business Data & Analytics.

What You Will Do

  • Set development standards for Sigma reports and applications, ensuring that the reports we deliver and the apps we create follow best practices, are efficient, and are built according to our internal standards, providing oversight for our users who create their own reports.
  • Provide direction and oversight for the Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE), promoting best practices, data literacy, and a robust self-service culture across the organization, aside from performing reviews of reports and data apps to be promoted to production.
  • Lead development, administration, and governance of Sigma assets, ensuring clients are provided with valuable, accurate and visually appealing reporting assets and that we have proper security access, and efficient usage of the system.
  • Mentor and guide BI Analysts, setting technical standards for dashboard design, data quality, and documentation.
  • Facilitate training and enablement sessions for business users to maximize the value and adoption of our BI platforms.
  • Act as the primary bridge between complex business needs and technical data capabilities, translating requirements into actionable data solutions and visualizations.
  • Develop and maintain highly insightful, performant dashboards and reports using modern BI tools, with an emphasis on advanced functionalities within Sigma.
  • Create and support data apps in Sigma, ensuring that they are built out of the right data with accurate results and that the apps perform well and have sound queries and processes within them.
  • Perform sophisticated ad-hoc analysis and deep dives to address high-priority business questions and provide strategic insights to leadership.
  • Query, analyze, and interpret data from various sources (e.g., ERP, CRM, marketing platforms) using expert-level SQL to identify critical trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Collaborate closely with Analytics Engineers to ensure data models are optimized for reporting performance and meet demanding business requirements.
  • Champion data quality by actively monitoring reports, troubleshooting data discrepancies, and collaborating with engineering teams for resolution.

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of progressive experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst, Senior Data or BI Analyst, or similar role.
  • Hands-on expertise with Sigma is required, including complex workbook development, advanced calculations, and platform administration features.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL with a demonstrated ability to write and optimize complex queries for data extraction and analysis across large datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one other modern BI tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong working knowledge of data warehouse/lakehouse environments (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift) and dimensional modeling concepts.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and presentation skills, with the proven ability to influence stakeholders and clearly explain complex data findings.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline a plus.

Nice To Have

  • Experience in the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) industry.
  • Familiarity with data transformation tools like dbt.
  • Experience with data governance and data quality principles, particularly in a self-service environment.
  • Willingness to act as the primary administrator and technical owner of one or more BI toolsets.
