About Our Team

The Personal Lines Sales & Distribution team partners with independent agencies to drive profitable growth and strengthen agency performance. We develop sales strategies, incentive programs, and engagement initiatives that help agencies succeed while delivering results for Nationwide.

As a Sales & Distribution Business Analyst Intern, you'll gain exposure to agency operations, producer engagement, performance management, and business strategy. You'll work alongside sales leaders, territory managers, and distribution partners to understand how agencies drive business, how compensation and incentive programs influence behavior, and how we measure success through performance and return on investment.

A Day in the Life of a PL Sales & Distribution Business Analyst Intern Might Include:

  • Supporting agency and producer incentive programs, including the administration and evaluation of the Nationwide Rewards program.
  • Assisting with the design and implementation of producer engagement and recognition initiatives.
  • Evaluating agency and producer performance against business objectives and program expectations.
  • Analyzing business results and developing return-on-investment (ROI) insights for agency compensation, incentive, and engagement programs.
  • Partnering with Territory Managers to understand strategic priorities and support local growth initiatives.
  • Conducting research and gathering insights to identify opportunities to drive producer behavior and improve business outcomes.
  • Assisting with producer engagement surveys and helping evaluate feedback trends and recommendations.
  • Participating in the development of sales contests, rewards programs, and other initiatives designed to increase agency performance.
  • Collaborating with sales, distribution, marketing, and business partners on strategic projects and operational initiatives.
  • Creating presentations, summaries, and recommendations for leadership and key stakeholders.

About You

Education

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Management, Sales, Communications, or a related field.
  • Involvement in student organizations, leadership activities, internships, or relevant work experience preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in business strategy and performance management.
  • Ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Interest in sales, marketing, agency management, incentives, and business development.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.

Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program. At its sole discretion, Nationwide determines whether to offer sponsorship for qualifying positions based on business need and budget. However, it is not usually available for entry level roles.

Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment.

The national hourly pay range for Nationwide Internships is: $23 - $50
