Ciklum is looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join our team full-time in Brazil.

About the role:
We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join our engineering team. Our mission is to help people save money on the prescription drugs they need to live healthier lives and make healthcare more accessible and affordable.
As a Senior Android Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining mobile applications and features that support key user journeys across our digital products. In this role, you will be involved in the design, implementation, testing, release, and ongoing improvement of new and existing mobile functionality. You will also collaborate closely with product, design, backend, and platform engineering teams.
The ideal candidate will be able to quickly turn ideas into polished, production-ready mobile experiences in a fast-paced and friendly environment. You should also be comfortable learning new technologies as needed and applying engineering best practices to deliver reliable, high-quality applications.
Responsibilities:
- Build new features from the ground up while working closely with design, product, and other teams
- Collaborate with the mobile apps team to design clean, reusable, and resilient high- level architectures
- Maintain existing code by fixing bugs and monitoring app performance
- Create and participate in code reviews
- Participate in architecture design and decisions on how to scale our apps
- Make smart engineering and product decisions based on data analysis and collaboration
Requirements:
- 5+ years of native app development experience, including a strong familiarity with Android framework (Intent, Flags, Activities, Fragments, etc) and object-oriented design best practices
- Experience with standard Android development tools (Android Studio)
- Experience with Core Java, Kotlin and OOPS concept
- Familiarity with native apps architecture and design patterns, including commonly used patterns such as MVVM
- Experience with Deep Linking, Analytics, and A/B testing
- Deep understanding of core software concepts, including networking, security, storage management, multi-threading, and application life-cycle management
- Proficient in debugging and performance tuning
- Experience communicating with REST APIs
- Ability to integrate 3rd party SDKs and APIs
- Excellent verbal and written communicator
- Can take complex project requirements and turn it into a detailed technical implementation plan
Desirable:
- Building apps with networking using GraphQL
- Familiarity with common 3rd party libraries available for common tasks
- Experience with monitoring (Fabric, Crashlytics, Embrace, NewRelic, Datadog, Sentry etc.)
- Ability to maintain code that supports older versions of Android
- At least 1 non-trivial, mobile app in the Google Play store
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Experience with HIPAA, PCI, or other high security environments
