Job Title: DevOps Engineer

Client: UHG / Optum Location: Remote Employment Type: W2 Contract Visa: USC / GC Only Experience: 12+ Years

Job Description

We are looking for a highly experienced DevOps Engineer with 12+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, and enterprise application deployments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and DevSecOps practices.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for enterprise applications.
  • Manage and automate cloud infrastructure using AWS and/or Azure.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Implement and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar tools.
  • Manage source code repositories using Git/GitHub/Bitbucket.
  • Automate infrastructure and application deployments across multiple environments.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, deployment, and production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Implement DevSecOps practices and integrate security into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with development, architecture, QA, security, and infrastructure teams.
  • Support production releases, environment management, and deployment automation.
  • Drive continuous improvement of DevOps processes, automation, scalability, and reliability.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of overall IT experience, with strong experience in DevOps/Cloud Engineering.

  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure.
  • Strong expertise in Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Strong experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code.
  • Extensive experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong scripting/programming experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration experience.
  • Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud networking, security, monitoring, and automation.
  • Experience with enterprise-scale production environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with DevSecOps and cloud security.
  • Experience with Terraform, Helm, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with enterprise-scale application modernization and cloud migration.
  • Experience in the healthcare/insurance domain is a plus.
