SMX is seeking a Project Manager to join the program management office (PMO) in a leadership position supporting Special Operations efforts in PACOM as well as serving as a liaison with government points of contact to facilitate operations. The ideal candidate will assist the project team with administrative oversight, operations management, and collaborate with multiple technical teams to achieve the overall mission objectives.

Required clearance: Active Top Secret with SCI Eligibility

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists with coordination of priorities and resources between multiple projects
  • Manages operational management trackers to support clear communication across multiple key stakeholders
  • Reports status, develops program/project-related documentation, implements lessons learned, and updates and maintains production and quality metrics for assigned programs and projects
  • Supports operational planning, execution, and evaluation of a multi-faceted program that requires collaboration with customers
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with the government’s program managers
  • Establishes and maintains effective communications with vendors
  • Manages daily communication, deliverable tracking, and financial reporting status with multiple subcontractors for assigned projects

Required Skills & Experience

  • Required clearance: Active Top Secret with SCI Eligibility
  • Demonstrable success in government contracting (DoD preferred) through prior work experience in a customer-facing role
  • Knowledge of process improvement techniques and ability to direct improvement initiatives
  • Experience interacting with and briefing senior government on topics related to programmatic, and financial status
  • Experience supporting large contracts leading complex requirements in austere environments
  • Experience with the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) in a Program Management or Technical Leadership role
  • Experience writing Statements of Work for subcontractors and managing subcontractors
  • Knowledge of different government funding and authority types
  • Experience with GSA procurement services and TAA Compliance
  • Ability to travel (up to 25%) with active passport

Desired Skill & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain management or a related discipline – desired MA/MS
  • 5+ years of management/supervision experience in Special Operations
  • 5+ years of government financial experience
  • 3+ years of military contracting experience
  • Experience with the Joint Forces in a Program Management or Technical Leadership Role

The proposed salary for this position is:

$112,000—$140,000 USD
