Summary
We are seeking a Principal Engineer who will play the role of a technical leader through design, development, deployment, and continuous improvement of scalable, secure, and trusted Gen AI, AI, Analytics, and Automation products for HP Global Finance.
This principal-level role will shape solution architecture, establish engineering standards, reusable capabilities, and technical delivery across complex Finance transformation initiatives. The role will work with Finance stakeholders, data teams, Controls, Cybersecurity, Architecture, and Technology teams to build best in class technology products for HP Finance organization. This technical leader will also mentor and coach other technical professionals in the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Play the role of a technical leader working across multiple complex and high visibility AI, Analytics and Automation projects
- Design technical architecture and end-to-end solutions using technologies which include Federated Data Lake, Databricks, SQL, Python, OpenAI environment and LLMs, Power BI, Automation Anywhere, and GitHub.
- Define reusable and scalable engineering components for data models, automation workflows, automated data monitoring, automated LLM performance evaluation, and other key components of AI and Analytics products.
- Lead technical development of robust, scalable and trusted AI, Analytics and Automation products.
- Drive technical development of trusted LLM powered Gen AI products, with high focus on grounding, automated evaluation, guardrails, monitoring, and appropriate human oversight.
- Collaborate with Controls, Cybersecurity, Data Platform, and Architecture teams to complete reviews to build a secure and trusted product.
- Mentor engineers and raise technical capability through reusable accelerators, playbooks, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
Skills and Experience Required
- Typically, 9+ years of experience in traditional ML, LLM powered Gen AI products, data engineering, analytics, and automation
- Demonstrated experience leading technical architecture and delivery across multiple complex enterprise projects.
- Advanced SQL capability for data transformation, data quality, modeling, and performance optimization.
- Strong hands-on expertise in working with Databricks or equivalent cloud analytics platforms, including SQL, Python, notebooks, workflows, pipelines, and production deployment.
- Power BI experience, including data modeling, semantic models, DAX, performance optimization, dashboard design, security, and refresh architecture.
- Experience building reusable data models, data pipelines, engineering frameworks, and accelerators for enterprise products.
- Experience building LLM-powered products using OpenAI or other enterprise LLM models, including prompt design, retrieval, grounding, evaluation, and responsible AI practices.
- Strong understanding of scalable data architecture, secure software-development practices, automation, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience using GitHub or similar version-control and CI/CD platforms.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts, trade-offs, and recommendations to Finance stakeholders.
- Proven ability to mentor technical professionals and influence technical standards across teams.
