Pratt & Whitney Compression Systems Engineering is seeking a goal oriented, detail-focused project engineer to work for the Engineering Support To Operations "ESTO" organization as a Project Engineer role based in East Hartford, CT. In this role you'll be responsible for Support to Operations task execution on the Fan Module and Compressor Module.

What You Will Do 

  • Support the Integrated Product Team to meet task and technical requirements
  • Support the Integrated Product Team with planning and managing the budget for all hardware and tasks.
  • Prepare/present status and technical content to IPTL, ESTO Leadership, CIPT & upper Pratt & Whitney management.
  • Work closely with the Integrated Product Team and authorities on hardware field investigations to drive root cause and recommend product improvements.
  • Evaluate product improvement opportunities and initiate Class 2 engineering change executions for those initiatives.
  • Coordinate evaluation and disposition of quality non-conformances and supplier requests for information.
  • Support the Integrated Product Team in performing risk assessments and developing mitigation plans.

  • Draw close to manufacturing of metal cases, frames, kinematics hardware that for the turbofan compressors.
  • This position is a part of our Engineering Development Program (EDP). EDP participants will complete three to four rotations to build technical breadth and leadership abilities before graduating from the program.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with UG Siemens NX Modeling
  • Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience working in the Aerospace Industry, and jet engines in particular
  • Previous gas turbine compressor experience
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
