Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field, along with at least two years of experience in a core or complex lab environment. A valid Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification or equivalent is also required.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Children's is searching for a Clinical Systems Analyst I to develop, configure, test and maintain Pathology’s training applications. Research, analyze and correct system and user problems. Work with various departments to define system requirements and implement changes as needed to existing systems. Participate in the development of existing and future upgrades and initiatives and all LIS-related training of users including physicians, nurses and ancillary staff.

Essential Functions

  • Provide Beaker training and orientation to new employees within the laboratory.
  • Provides education and training on updates and process flows on Beaker changes to employees and others when necessary.
  • Maintains competency result information on Beaker usage for employees.
  • Provides weekly education to lab staff on process flows and other changes that may need to be communicated.
  • Works with IT to define process flows and make recommendations for the most efficient utilization of applications
  • Maintains Quality Management and validation to meet CAP requirements
  • Research, analyze and correct system and user problems in a timely manner and maintain documentation of issues and resolutions.
  • Participates with On-Call or Monthly Maintenance Teams, researches, evaluates and communicates new technology for applicability.
  • Develops and coordinates application test plans. Responsible for maintaining updated test plans for all applications with assistance from other team members.
  • Supports new staff, current staff and students in Orientation, Training and Competency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Current technical knowledge of Information Technology, focusing on application development and support.
  • Current knowledge of applying technology focused in the area of Healthcare.
  • Skill in use of MS Office applications.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking skills for problem solving.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science or related field, including a one-year internship in an approved clinical laboratory required.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Core or Complex Lab environment required.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

  • Current and valid certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or equivalent with the American Society of Clinical Pathology or other equivalent certified agency required.
