Position Title: Manager, Global Product Portfolio

Position Type: Regular - Full-Time

Requisition ID: 43919

In every role, McCainers are ambitious, curious, and passionate about creating exceptional work experiences - together. With a customer-first mindset, we make doing business with McCain easy.

About the role.

The Global Portfolio Manager, Snacking is responsible for leading the end-to-end global product portfolio strategy and governance across McCain’s Snacking business. This role balances short-term commercial priorities with long-term innovation and growth opportunities to deliver a scalable, profitable, and consumer-relevant portfolio. Partnering closely with regional leadership, innovation, marketing, finance, supply chain, and commercial teams, the role ensures portfolio decisions drive customer, consumer, category, and business performance while enabling speed to market and global scale.

What you’ll be doing.

Portfolio Strategy & Planning • Develop and lead the global portfolio strategy, aligned to overall commercial and brand objectives including portfolio architecture, and tiering strategies

  • Execute the strategy by identifying and leading the global scaling of winning/power product SKUs
  • Identify category and portfolio opportunities based on consumer, market and competitor insight
  • Lead the portfolio lifecycle across regions, including the rationalization process, managing timelines, data collection and regional inputs
  • Maintain global SKU database and dashboards, tracking key metrics such as SKU count, velocity, profitability, and scalability
  • Model portfolio scenarios (SKU cuts, additions, mix shifts) and highlight trade-offs for review
  • Prepare fact-based analyses and business cases to support portfolio decision-making

Portfolio Governance • Manage the end-to-end operational rhythm of portfolio governance

  • Ensure all markets and functions adhere to global portfolio guardrails (SKU tiering, complexity thresholds, minimum volume requirements)
  • Maintain visibility on sunsetting, consolidation, and reformulation projects; track progress and flag misalignments or delays to the Senior Director
  • Prepare decision-support packages with data, insights, and options for governance councils or leadership forums
  • Own and update the master portfolio database, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and accessibility for stakeholders
  • Surface governance risks or non-compliance, with recommendations for resolution
  • Conduct regular reviews of the portfolio to identify SKUs outside agreed governance parameters (e.g., low velocity, duplication, brand misalignment)
  • Liaise between regions and global functions to ensure local portfolio decisions align with global standards

Innovation • Oversee in-market performance tracking against business cases and KPIs, monitoring innovations’ success and understanding implications for our global portfolio

  • Support alignment with global supply and regional marketing teams to enable product launches, transitions and discontinuations
  • Champion continuous improvement in ways of working – sourcing new methods, tools and techniques (including AI-enabled approaches) to support greater speed, and scalability

Cross-Functional Partnership & Execution • Partner with Supply Chain & procurement to ensure we can successfully scale the portfolio

  • Communicate clear rationale for portfolio choices with Global Marketing to build compelling, evidence-based selling stories and business cases that give the organisation confidence to act
  • Build relationships with MDs, sales and customer teams to ensure we are customer obsessed
  • Work with Finance to analyze commercial performance at SKU-level to maximize commercialization
  • Analyze and interpret pricing and promotional performance — looking beyond "actual price" to the "presentation of price" to understand implications for our portfolio’s architecture

Communication & People Leadership • Communicate portfolio recommendations clearly and persuasively to business leadership

  • Manage, coach and develop direct report(s), supporting them on their plans and initiatives
  • Champion learning and development across the team

What you’ll need to be successful.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in CPG marketing, portfolio management, category management, or related commercial leadership roles.
  • Experience managing multi-brand and/or multi-category portfolios, preferably within Retail, Foodservice, and QSR channels.
  • Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen with the ability to balance growth opportunities and profitability objectives.
  • Demonstrated success leveraging consumer, category, market, and financial data to influence portfolio and business decisions.
  • Advanced analytical and modeling capabilities, including experience with P&L analysis, pricing strategies, ROI evaluation, and scenario planning.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, and AI-enabled business tools.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment across complex, global organizations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex analyses into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience managing and developing team members is preferred.
