Manage and support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Wendy’s Product QA programs across multiple product categories, including food safety, quality, regulatory compliance, sanitation, production, CSR, and animal welfare.
Manages supplier and product compliance activities, including, but not limited to audits, product evaluations, laboratory testing, data capture, validations, program management, and related oversight tools. Ensures suppliers and products meet Wendy’s Brand quality and food safety standards and specifications and is accountable for program results.
Partners with QA Leadership to develop and advance strategic initiatives aligned with company and departmental goals and action plans. Contributes as a member of the QA Team while leading, coaching, managing, and providing oversight for assigned QA staff supporting Wendy’s products.
Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and implement programs, procedures, and action plans to monitor and maintain compliance with food safety and quality specifications and Wendy’s expectations across multiple products and suppliers. Leverages available data streams to assess, monitor, and communicate supplier and product risks through the department’s Risk Assessment Program.
- Oversee the planning and execution of suppliers’ facility assessments and audits to support the department’s approval program, action plans, and ensure compliance with company standards and specifications for food safety, quality, regulatory compliance, sanitation, production, CSR, and animal welfare. Oversee full commercialization of new and secondary sources and ensures third-party audits and any required follow-up activities are completed according to Wendy’s standards and expectations.
- Leads, manages and coaches the development and performance of direct report(s), including IPP/IDP process, ongoing coaching & development, and performance management activities as appropriate.
- Responsible for cross-department and functional communication and support of other Wendy’s Functions that include, but are not limited to R&D, QSCC, Operations, Restaurant QA during product development, second sourcing, and food safety, quality and regulatory complaints and issues
Minimum Wage
USD $126,000.00/Yr. Maximum Wage
USD $221,000.00/Yr. Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Food Science, Meat Science, Microbiology or related field required.
- Knowledge of food science, HACCP, food processing technology, equipment, microbiology.
- Minimum 10 years work experience in food safety, QA or Operations in the food industry.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of statistical analysis – statistical process control.
- Certification in HACCP, Preventive Control Qualified Individual (PCQI) and/ or any GFSI standard
- Work in R&D, food safety, quality and/or regulatory at restaurant level In US or Internationally
Expected Work Location (In Office): It is expected that you will primarily perform work at the Wendy's Restaurant Support Center (RSC) (1 Dave Thomas Blvd, Dublin, OH 43017), or at other location(s) as designated by the Company. You are required to work in the office at least 4 days a week. Changes to work location arrangements are subject to managerial approval and business needs. #LI-Onsite

The base pay range for this position is listed below. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position. The target annual bonus for this role is 20% of annualized base salary, based on actual company and personal performance.
