We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join our dynamic finance team in Kansas City, Missouri. This role offers a unique blend of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Corporate Development (M&A) exposure, with a primary focus on supporting FP&A functions across our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, financial modeling expertise, and the ability to work across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The Financial Analyst will play a critical role in driving financial insights, supporting decision-making processes, and assisting with corporate development initiatives, including acquisitions, bolt-ons, and partnerships. The Financial Analyst works directly with the senior leadership team supporting strategy development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teams across finance, operations, marketing, and legal to ensure alignment on financial strategies and corporate initiatives.
- Assist in the preparation of executive presentations and reports related to FP&A activities, M&A transactions, and strategic goals.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and insights to support ongoing operational and strategic initiatives.
Financial Planning & Analysis Focus:
- Develop, manage, and maintain detailed financial models at the company, subsidiary, and holding levels to support forecasting, budgeting, and long-term strategic planning.
- Prepare and present financial reports, including variance analyses, trend analyses, and scenario planning, to support strategic business decisions.
- Monitor industry trends, economic data, and competitive landscapes to anticipate impacts on financial performance and strategic objectives.
- Prep of quarterly BOD materials
- Annual budgeting of CopperPoint and locations
Mergers & Acquisitions Focus:
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify and evaluate potential acquisition and partnership opportunities.
- Assist in the valuation, assessment, and due diligence of acquisition targets, working closely with internal teams and external advisors.
- Support all phases of the M&A process, including deal structuring, financial modeling, and integration planning.
- Maintain and organize the deal pipeline to ensure clear visibility and prioritization of opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in FP&A, accounting, transaction advisory, corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and financial analysis, with a basic understanding of valuation framework.
- Strong in PowerPoint
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Travel is expected on a quarterly basis.
- PowerBI and SQL experience is a plus, but not required.
- Successful completion of a provided case study.
