Job Description
The Supply Chain Quality Assurance Project Manager leads the coordination and execution of quality projects across AbbVie’s global distribution and supplier network, including global distribution centers and Commercial Affiliate operations.
This role serves as a primary liaison across Quality organizations, Global Distribution, Supply Planning, Procurement, Commercial Affiliates and Manufacturing Sites. The position provides leadership in developing project plans, coordinating execution activities, achieving milestones and ensuring the effective operationalization of quality and compliance initiatives across the distribution and supplier network.
The Supply Chain QA Project Manager maintains awareness of emerging regulatory requirements and industry standards, assesses their potential impact on AbbVie operations, and proactively coordinates projects aligned with regulatory expectations and business priorities.
Highlighted Responsibilities
- Lead the coordination and execution of quality projects across AbbVie’s global distribution and supplier network.
- Provide input into the development, implementation and optimization of quality systems, Validation Master Plans, supplier metrics, operational processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with Quality, Global Distribution, Supply Planning and Commercial Affiliate partners to develop, implement and operationalize quality projects.
- Monitor current and emerging regulatory requirements and industry standards, assess their impact and coordinate appropriate quality initiatives.
- Identify and drive process improvement opportunities that support compliance, operational efficiency, standardization and cost savings.
- Assess QA activities and monitor key performance indicators across the distribution and supplier network to identify opportunities for improvement and governance enhancement.
- Partner with functional stakeholders when contracting with and managing logistics suppliers, including supplier lifecycle activities, Quality Technical Agreements, Approved Supplier List requirements and supplier business reviews.
- Define and support supplier reporting requirements for quality-related performance indicators.
- Partner with Supply Chain QA Operations and Commercial Affiliates to ensure alignment across distribution and supplier network activities.
- Develop project plans, coordinate cross-functional execution, track milestones and ensure successful implementation of project deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant Quality experience in a GDP-regulated pharmaceutical, biologics and/or medical device environment.
- Strong knowledge and experience with global pharmaceutical and medical device quality systems, policies, processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex, cross-functional quality projects.
- Experience working across multiple sites, countries or geographic regions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a global, cross-functional organization.
- Strong project management, organizational and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to assess regulatory requirements and translate them into practical quality and business initiatives.
- Strong understanding of business governance processes and performance metrics.
- Results-oriented, proactive and able to lead initiatives through ambiguity and complexity.
