Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineering Manager’s primary function is to plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the activities of the Electrical Engineering Department.

Job Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

1. Plan, organize direct, control, and evaluate the activities of the Electrical Engineering Department.

2. Develop, implement, and monitor policies, standards, procedures, and work instructions to ensure the Engineering Department runs efficiently, cost-effective, and on schedule.

3. Assign, coordinate, and review the technical work of the department and applications group.

4. Develop and prepare regular monthly management reports on department activities.

5. Participate in production and milestone management meetings.

6. Track and manage work order engineering deliverables and timelines.

7. Review Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and submittals for customer approval

8. Provide external technical support to new and existing customers through field visits, customer meetings, and design reviews.

9. Interview, hire, evaluate, and oversee training of staff.

10. Participate in the development and implementation of the continuous improvement methodology.

11. Develop ITP’s in accordance with quality assurance and product functions.

Job Specific Requirements:

1. College Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or University graduate of Electrical Engineering with 5-7 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

2. 2-3 years experience managing a team of Electrical Designers/Engineers

3. Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or equivalent is preferred

4. Experience with relevant electrical codes and standards (CSA, NEC, NFPA, UL, etc.)

5. Expert with AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software.

6. Working experience working with ERP systems, Infor Visual preferred

7. Self-motivated with strong organizational and leadership skills.

8. Must have a valid drivers license and the ability to travel primarily in North America but potentially
