Are you up for this challenge? We are looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer that will lead the innovation and exploration that would drive the future of Middle Mile Transportation at Amazon.

Amazon's Middle Mile Transportation Technology team is chartered with building complex software solutions that work across our vendors, warehouses and carriers to optimize both time & cost of getting the packages delivered. Our services already handle thousands of requests per second, make business decisions impacting billions of dollars a year, integrate with a network of small and large carriers, owner operators and drivers worldwide, manage business rules for millions of unique products, and improve ordering and delivery experience for millions of online shoppers.

We aim to leverage latest technologies in big data, machine learning, and optimization techniques, and operate high volume, low latency, and high availability services.

As part of this team you will work with executive leaders, engineering, science and operations stakeholders to drive process improvement, generate ideas, validate entitlement and then produce a path to production. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment and will be required to lead not only at the strategic level, but also tactically day-to-day by diving deeply into business and technical domains. As a multi-discipline leader, the buck will stop with you - you will work as part of the engineering organization.

Key job responsibilities - Generate insightful analysis, reporting, and data visualizations to answer critical business questions, proactively identify notable trends, and communicate business performance - Translate data into actionable insights for stakeholders while proactively identifying new areas of opportunity to drive further improvements - Apply expertise in data mining and modeling leveraging multiple data sources to uncover unique insights, identify key performance drivers, and build predictive models - Work backwards from your end-customer to define, design, and execute each work item with an emphasis on improved metrics, productivity, and efficiency - Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation

Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field - 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience - Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools - Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines - Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling - Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab - Experience using Python scripting to process data for modeling - Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift - Experience developing, deploying and managing AI products at scale

Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field - 5+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience - Knowledge of advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools (familiarity with Tableau preferred) - Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets - Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs - Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
