Analytics Engineer I
Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Division / Department: Enterprise Data / IT
Reports to: Manager, Data & Analytics
Travel: Minimal
About the Role
The Analytics Engineer I is responsible for developing and maintaining curated datasets within the gold layer of the enterprise data platform. This role focuses on ensuring data is accurate, consistent, and usable for downstream analytics and reporting.
Responsibilities include
- Build and maintain data models in the gold layer using Databricks
- Apply established data modeling standards and best practices
- Support development of the semantic layer for analytics use
- Validate and test data for accuracy and consistency
- Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to understand data requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Data, Analytics, Computer Science, or related field
- 0–3 years of experience in data or analytics roles
- Experience with SQL and data transformation
- Exposure to Databricks or similar platforms preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Strong SQL fundamentals
- Basic understanding of data modeling concepts
- Attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly
