We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Business System Analyst to join our IT team in Langley, BC.  

Reporting to the Senior Solution Architect, you will play a key functional leadership role, serving as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders while translating business requirements into well-designed, testable, and sustainable system solutions that support business and operational goals. In this role, you will help drive alignment, influence decision-making, and guide analysis activities across strategic initiatives.

You will be responsible for:

  • Eliciting, analyzing, and documenting workforce management requirements, system rules, operational practices, and business objectives.
  • Translating collective agreements, labour policies, and operational scenarios into clear, structured, and testable functional requirements.
  • Leading discovery sessions, workshops, and fit-gap analyses with stakeholders, SMEs, Payroll, and Operations teams to guide solution design and configuration decisions.
  • Partnering with the Product Owner and key business stakeholders to evaluate options and assess impacts on compliance, payroll, operations, and system capabilities.
  • Designing and supporting pay-impact test scenarios, parallel payroll validation, and end-to-end traceability from labour rules to system configuration and outcomes.
  • Supporting phased deployments by ensuring functional readiness, capturing lessons learned, and facilitating knowledge transfer to operational teams.
  • Analyzing system data and behavior to validate requirements, define integration needs, and resolve functional issues with developers, architects, vendors, and implementation partners.

You have:

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Analysis, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst supporting complex enterprise platforms.
  • Strong experience producing structured, functional documentation and traceability artifacts.
  • Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, or similar.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and Excel for data analysis and validation.
  • Strong process modeling skills (process flows, activity or sequence diagrams).
  • Hands-on experience leading and supporting requirements elicitation, system testing, UAT, and pay-impact validation.
  • Experience with Workday or integrated HR ecosystems is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in unionized or highly regulated environments is considered an asset.

Compensation Details:

$96,443.00 - $120,554.00The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience and other factors.
