Full description

Associate QA Engineer (SDET Track)

Start your career in test automation — Playwright and backend testing, with AI tools built into how you work

Location: Remote (India) | Shift: Indian regular business hours | Work week: 5 days | Reports to: Senior QA Engineer / Team Leader QA | Experience: 0–1 year (Freshers welcome)

THE ROLE

MyOperator is looking for an Associate QA Engineer to start their career on our QA team, building hands-on automation and backend testing skills on Playwright. You'll work under the guidance of senior QA engineers, writing and running automated tests for our web application and validating backend/API behavior, while ramping up fast on real production systems.

This is a coding-forward QA role from day one, not a manual-testing entry point. You'll be expected to write automation scripts (with mentorship), use AI tools like Claude to speed up your learning and debugging, and grow quickly into independent ownership of test suites within your first year.

ABOUT MYOPERATOR

MyOperator is a Business AI Operator platform that allows businesses, teams, and AI Agents to work in tandem for customer operations, i.e., handle Sales, Support, Escalation, Feedback, and Refund processes. With over 12,000+ businesses using our platform, we are the largest in the space.

MyOperator is built for people who want to work on ambitious problems at a meaningful scale. We value ownership, speed, critical thinking, and a bias for building things that create real customer and business outcomes. This is a high-expectation, high-learning environment where people are trusted to think independently, challenge ideas openly, move with urgency, and keep raising the bar as we build for long-term impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write and execute automated test scripts using Playwright for our web application, under the guidance of senior QA engineers.
  • Perform functional, regression, and API testing across web and backend flows as part of release cycles.
  • Validate REST API responses and backend data using tools like Postman and basic SQL queries.
  • Use AI coding assistants (Claude and similar tools) to speed up learning, script writing, and debugging.
  • Log, track, and retest defects with clear reproduction steps using the team's bug-tracking tool.
  • Participate in test case reviews and contribute improvements to the team's shared automation framework.
  • Support release regression cycles by executing and monitoring automated test suites.

REQUIREMENTS — MUST HAVE

  • 0–1 year of professional experience; freshers with strong fundamentals are welcome. B.Tech/BCA/MCA or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Hands-on exposure to Playwright through coursework, internship, personal projects, or certification — mandatory.
  • Working understanding of API/backend testing concepts (REST, HTTP methods, status codes, Postman) and basic SQL.
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) for coding or test-writing — able to show sample scripts or projects.
  • Comfortable working fully remote, Indian business hours, 5-day work week.

REQUIREMENTS — GOOD TO HAVE

  • Personal GitHub projects or academic work showing Playwright or Selenium automation.
  • Conceptual familiarity with observability/monitoring tools such as Datadog or Langfuse.
  • Exposure to CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions) or strong willingness to learn.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript or Python (Playwright's primary languages).
  • Internship or academic project experience specifically in software testing.

THIS PROFILE IS NOT FOR

  • Resumes showing only manual/exploratory testing exposure, with no coding, scripting, or automation coursework, projects, or internships listed.
  • Candidates with no individually attributable project, internship, or open-source contribution — every listed experience is fully team- or mentor-driven with no personal deliverable called out.
  • Work history or stated preference limited to on-site, fixed-supervision roles with no exposure to remote or asynchronous collaboration tools.
