Full description
As part of a thesis in the Materials Characterization and Testing Department at Fraunhofer ITWM, you will work on a project in the field of electronics development and embedded systems. Three topics are available for a Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis:
- Topic 1: Adaptation of touch-display interface electronics and software
- Topic 2: Development of a cable tester for various cable types
- Topic 3: Development of an Ethernet switch module for embedded systems
Be part of change
- Topic 1: Adaptation of the interface electronics (circuit design & PCB design), customization of the display driver, software implementation of the touch interface, and expansion of the graphical user interface (GUI) to include new functions and design elements
- Topic 2: Development of a cable tester to test various cable types according to specifications (including measurement adapters for different cable types, continuity and short-circuit testing, and visual feedback), hardware design, and software development
- Topic 3: Development of a Gigabit Ethernet switch module for use in an embedded system as a second source, including specifications (e.g., Gigabit Ethernet, 4 ports (unmanaged), and status indication via LEDs), market overview of suitable Gigabit Ethernet switch ICs, hardware design (PCB), and validation of the switch in the existing system
