Role: Senior Automation Project Manager

Department: Automation Implementation

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Employment Type: Full Time

The Senior Automation Project Manager is independently responsible for the detailed implementation of intralogistics projects including costs, quality and time. This includes all trades and interfaces in their entirety. Responsible for all phases from signing of the contract to acceptance of the system by the customer. Supported by Engineering and other technical departments in fulfilling this role. The Senior Automation Project Manager is also responsible for customer satisfaction.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibility for the implementation of automated logistics systems with rack operating equipment, materials handling technology and warehouse control including responsibility for timely and cost-effective project implementation
  • Allocation of subcontractors with Purchasing
  • Acting as interface between customer and internal/external partners/suppliers from incoming orders
  • Coordination of all functions in the project
  • Maintaining an updated schedule for distribution internally and externally
  • Weekly reporting to the internal and external team
  • Monthly reporting to management
  • Transfer of projects from planning/design
  • Specification and detailed clarification of the scope of supply and services
  • Active participation in discussions on IT requirements specifications
  • Continuous distribution of updated working drawings
  • Acting as contact person for customers and partners within the scope of construction site coordination
  • Compliance with quality, cost and scheduling requirements throughout the project
  • Creation of risk assessments
  • Construction management and support for commissioning
  • Monitoring and assessment of contractual services
  • Compilation of the complete documentation
  • Preparation and execution of acceptances
  • Transfer of projects to After Sales Service

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, IT or industrial engineering with a focus on materials handling technology/logistics or comparable education is a plus
  • A minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in project management role or in project management in a relevant area, ideally in the role of general contractor (m/f)
  • Knowledge in the field of logistics, specialist area materials handling technology, automated warehouse technology, control technology and IT for material flow systems
  • Extensive experience in the implementation of turnkey materials handling and warehouse technology or of sub-areas
  • Expert use of MS Office (particularly MS Project and Excel)
  • Can read CAD drawings developed by the team
  • Stylistically confident spoken and written English (conversational)
