Full description

The Junior Project Manager will play a pivotal role in the firm’s business transformation and digital change agenda, leading a range of strategic and operational initiatives including cloud-based software rollouts, integrations, and emerging AI tools. This position supports the firm’s ambition to modernise and futureproof its legal services by embedding smarter systems, improving process efficiency, and driving user adoption across both legal and business services functions. Reporting to the existing PM and working closely with the IT Director, the roleholder is expected to work closely with senior leadership across departments, particularly within Legal teams, Risk & Compliance, Knowledge, HR, Finance and Marketing to translate strategic objectives into clearly defined, deliverable projects. The roleholder will ensure robust project governance, effective stakeholder engagement, and strong change management from initiation through to successful implementation and benefits realisation. The role will involve working closely with the firm’s Managed Services Provider (MSP), which delivers much of the infrastructure and backend IT support, while recognising the need to operate effectively within the limits of a small internal team.

Departmental Context and Operating Model The role sits within the Information Technology function, which is overseen by the IT Director. The department is strategically aligned to support firm-wide initiatives with a strong focus on transformation, process efficiency and digital enablement. Due to the lean internal resourcing model, currently comprising a small team of in-house IT professionals supported by a third-party MSP, project delivery relies heavily on collaboration with external vendors, outsourced implementation teams, and proactive internal coordination across stakeholders. The successful candidate will need to be highly self-sufficient, resilient, and pragmatic in managing limited internal delivery capacity while ensuring high-quality outcomes.

Innovation and AI Strategy There is a growing emphasis on implementing AI-enabled tools and process automations where they directly support efficiency, cost reduction and improved client service delivery. The Project Manager will help evaluate, pilot, and embed technologies, processes and workflows, ensuring such systems are implemented responsibly and with clear business value.
