In this role, you will design our testing strategy from the ground up, build robust automation frameworks, and instill testing best practices across the development lifecycle. You will bridge the gap between development and product management, ensuring our software releases are stable, reliable, and aligned with user requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Framework Development: Architect, implement, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks for web, mobile, or API applications.
  • Testing Strategy: Define overall testing methodologies, best practices, and quality standards for the entire development team.
  • Test Management: Author, organize, and maintain comprehensive test cases, test suites, and regression plans.
  • Traceability: Implement and manage processes to ensure end-to-end traceability between product requirements and test cases.
  • Automation Engineering: Write, execute, and maintain automated test scripts within continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Mentor developers on test-writing techniques, conduct code reviews for automation scripts, and champion a culture of high quality.
  • QA Platform Development: Design and package testing frameworks, tools, and processes as reusable enterprise assets. Document implementation guides, create starter templates, and provide integration support to enable other development teams to adopt standardized quality practices.
  • Defect Tracking: Oversee triage sessions, document clear bug reports, and work closely with developers to reproduce and resolve critical defects.
  • Metrics & Reporting: Define and track core QA metrics, such as test coverage, defect density, and pass/fail rates, to report on release readiness.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in software quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior automation role.
  • Automation Expertise: Hands-on proficiency with modern automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium.

  • Tools: Experience with test management platforms (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Xray) and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
  • Methodologies: Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum processes, shift-left testing, and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) or Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • AI-Tools: Experience leveraging AI tools for test generation, test maintenance, and automation.
  • Communication: Clear technical writing for documentation, bug reports, and test plans. Ability to explain quality risks and tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively across development, product, and operations teams.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical
