Job Description & Summary
PwC’s Public Sector practice delivers advisory and analytical support for EU institutions, focusing on process optimizations, structural reforms, and digitalization. Our teams work across complex assignments for EU institutions, public authorities and international organizations, combining multidisciplinary expertise to provide high‑quality, evidence‑based solutions.
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to support the ICT team in the deployment, integration, maintenance, and monitoring of critical enterprise applications. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing application environments, coordinating deployments, supporting testing activities, and collaborating with vendors and project teams in an international environment. This position offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical systems supporting a large-scale European organization.
For an ongoing client assignment, we are looking for: DevOps Engineer (freelance)
Your future role:
- Supporting application build, integration, and deployment activities for both backend systems and client devices (mobile and PC),
- Assisting in the management, configuration, and maintenance of system environments.
- Supporting project teams during system testing activities and ensuring technical readiness of environments,
- Monitoring and analysing system functionality on a daily basis to ensure stable operations,
- Monitoring system performance, availability, and overall health, proactively identifying potential issues,
- Reporting, coordinating, and following up on technical issues related to application and system environments,
- Acting as the primary technical liaison between Frontex ICT and external vendors or contractors regarding environment-related and operational issues,
- Providing technical support to ICT staff and project teams in the deployment and configuration of development environments in Microsoft Azure,
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of deployment processes, environment management, and operational support activities.
Apply if you have:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience,
- Excellent understanding of software deployment processes and management,
- Good understanding of software release management practices,
- Knowledge of RUP and/or Agile methodologies,
- Familiarity with application server technologies,
- Experience with build and deployment tools, such as Ant and Azure Pipelines,
- Knowledge of software development tools and environments,
- Understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS),
- Advanced knowledge of SharePoint and SharePoint-related tools,
- Strong expertise in application build and deployment activities,
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork capabilities,
- Ability to work across a variety of technologies and platforms,
- Ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment,
- Previous experience working within European Institutions, international organizations, or the public sector will be considered a strong asset,
- Willingness to engage as a freelancer under a B2B contract model.
