 Summary

The Senior Finance Intelligence Analyst, Clinical Service Line serves as the primary financial and analytical business partner for assigned clinical service lines. Working closely with the Senior Director of Finance, Service Line Administrators, Physician Leaders, and Executive Leadership, this role integrates financial analysis, business intelligence, and operational insights to support strategic decision-making and drive organizational performance. Responsible for developing service line financial reporting, profitability analyses, benchmarking, physician productivity reporting, business case development, and strategic decision support. Monitors financial and operational trends, identifies opportunities for improvement, and provides actionable recommendations that enhance financial sustainability, operational efficiency, patient access, and quality outcomes. This role functions as a trusted advisor to operational leadership and plays a key role in service line strategy, budgeting, forecasting, performance improvement, and organizational growth.

Responsibilities

Serves as the primary finance business partner for assigned clinical service lines, providing financial guidance, analytical insights, and strategic recommendations to Service Line Administrators, Medical Directors, and Executive Leadership.

Acts as the main liaison between Finance and Service Line Leadership, ensuring timely, accurate, and actionable financial intelligence to support operational and strategic decisions.

Participates in multidisciplinary service line meetings and collaborates with clinical and operational leaders to identify opportunities to improve financial performance, operational efficiency, patient access, and quality outcomes.

Develops and produces monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial and operational reports for assigned service lines.

Designs and maintains executive dashboards and scorecards incorporating financial, operational, quality, access, utilization, market share, and volume metrics.

Maximizes the functionality of financial reporting systems, business intelligence platforms, and decision support applications to enhance service line performance monitoring.

Performs service line profitability analyses, contribution margin reporting, physician productivity analyses, cost analyses, reimbursement evaluations, and trend assessments.

Monitors financial and operational performance against budget, forecast, prior year, and established benchmarks; investigates and explains variances.

Develops benchmarking analyses using internal and external data sources to evaluate performance and identify best practices.

Supports strategic planning initiatives through financial modeling, scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, business case development, and ROI evaluations for new programs, physician recruitment, capital investments, and service expansions.

Integrates financial, operational, quality, access, and market data to identify growth opportunities, optimize resource allocation, and improve overall service line performance.

Assists in preparing annual operating budgets, long-range financial plans, capital planning, and monthly forecasts for assigned service lines.

Ensures accuracy, consistency, and integrity of service line reporting through coordination with Decision Support, FP&A, Revenue Cycle, Accounting, IT, and Operational Leadership.

Prepares executive presentations, board-level reporting, and financial summaries supporting strategic and operational decision-making.

Develops standardized reporting methodologies and recommends process improvements that enhance financial transparency, reporting efficiency, and executive decision support.

Provides analytical support for physician compensation models, program evaluations, operational initiatives, and executive leadership projects.

Performs all other related duties as assigned. 

Experience

Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is required.

Credentials

Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certification from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), or any other relevant professional certification in related field is preferred.
