As a Senior Python Developer, you have a key role in the further development of the Flex Toolkit: an advanced application that optimizes grid capacity through smart calculations and flexible contract options.
You design robust scalable Python software, facilitate technical decision-making together with the team, ensuring high code quality, maintainability and performance. Ttranslating complex business challenges into sustainable technical solutions is part of your job.
Beyond software development, you act as a technical leader within the team. You coach fellow developers, support architectural discussions and help maintain high engineering standards. Together, you create an environment in which knowledge sharing, continuous learning and collaboration are actively encouraged.
A day as a Senior Python Developer:
- You start your day at the office at the Blaak with a stand-up, discussing sprint progress, technical challenges and upcoming priorities with the team.
- You design and implement complex Python-based solutions and coach developers on best practices and design decisions.
- During lunch, you catch up with colleagues in the company restaurant or take a walk through Rotterdam.
- After the lunch In the afternoon, you align with Product Owners, Architects and Business Analysts on scope, trade-offs and delivery.
- You finish your day by reviewing code, improving integrations with systems such as Databricks, SAP and Azure Cloud Services.

All financial employment conditions at a glance, so you know exactly where you stand:
- A gross monthly salary of up to € 7,267, 09, - (based on 40 hours and knowledge and experience), 24.5 vacation days, and pension accrual with ABP, for which we pay 70% of the premium.
- On top of your salary, you receive a personal budget of 24% (including 8% holiday allowance). You choose what to do with the budget: for example, extra salary or (up to a maximum of 35.5) leave days. You can see how it works in our calculation tool.

You will join the Flex Toolkit team within an Agile Release Train. The team consists of a Product Owner, Scrum Master, Business Analysts and Developers who work together on solutions that support capacity management and congestion prevention.
You collaborate closely with both IT and business stakeholders, helping shape not only what is built, but also how solutions are designed and implemented. What makes you our new Senior Python Developer:
- You have a graduate degree, preferably in Computer Science or similar and 10 years of professional development experience of which at least 4 years with Python.
- You have strong experience with design patterns and system integration, as well as with code quality, CI/CD and engineering standards.
- You speak Dutch or English and you already live in the Netherlands. We are also open for candidates who are not speaking fluently Dutch but are willing to learn. An important condition is that you are willing to travel at least 50% of your time to the office in Rotterdam.
