Riverpoint Medical in Northeast Portland is hiring a Project Manager. At Riverpoint you will be part of the process that brings great technology to Medical, Dental and Veterinary markets. We specialize in the design and manufacturing of premium medical devices. Our ingenuity can be found in our suture technologies, sports medicine fibers and anchors, surgical lighting, and special needle technologies.

Role Summary

The Project Manager leads cross-functional teams to plan, coordinate, and deliver New Product Introduction (NPI) and Operational Excellence (OPEX) projects from scoping through launch using the Phase Gate process. This role is accountable for delivery of individual projects and executes within portfolio priorities. The Project Manager operates in a dynamic, cross‑functional environment and is expected to create clarity, maintain momentum, and adapt execution plans as priorities and information evolve.

  • Cross-functional teams are aligned on milestones, owners, and next steps; accountability is maintained without formal authority.
  • Risks, dependencies, and change requests are surfaced early with clear options and recommendations.
  • Continuous improvement shows up in how projects are planned, run, and adapted throughout execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive multiple NPI and OPEX projects from scoping through launch, following the Phase Gate process.
  • Develop project charters, work breakdown structures, schedules, and budgets; manage critical path and major workstreams.
  • Partner closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Sales, and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate project plans and governance artifacts; run effective project meetings and decision forums.
  • Provide regular status updates to internal and external stakeholders, including progress, achievements, risks, and upcoming decisions.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks; create and maintain risk response plans and contingency actions.
  • Manage project changes (scope/timeline/resource) through clear impact assessment and documented decisions.
  • Escalate risks and decision points with clear recommendations aligned to portfolio priorities.
  • Support company initiatives and compliance activities in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and other regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience leading cross-functional projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve consensus and motivate others without authority.
  • Experience working in New Product Development preferred.
  • Experience with FDA 510(k) process or other regulatory submissions preferred.
