This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Solutions Engineering Manager, Product Specialist based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a specialized solutions engineering function focused on driving technical excellence and improving customer outcomes. You will manage a team of product specialists who support strategic sales opportunities, complex evaluations, and category growth initiatives. The position combines people leadership, operational design, and cross-functional collaboration to strengthen technical validation and accelerate business impact. You will partner closely with sales, product, marketing, and customer success teams to create scalable solutions and repeatable engagement models. Accountabilities:The Senior Solutions Engineering Manager, Product Specialist will lead a team of specialized technical experts and establish the strategies, processes, and operating models needed to maximize their impact across the organization.

  • Build, manage, and develop a high-performing team of Product Specialists aligned with strategic solution categories and business priorities.
  • Define the team’s charter, engagement model, workflows, and collaboration processes with sales, solutions engineering, product, marketing, and customer success teams.
  • Create prioritization frameworks to ensure specialists are deployed effectively across high-value opportunities, evaluations, and strategic customer initiatives.
  • Coach team members on discovery, technical demonstrations, objection handling, proof-of-concept design, value-based selling, and executive communication.
  • Develop scalable sales enablement resources, repeatable playbooks, and category-focused strategies that strengthen field performance.
  • Establish success metrics, operating rhythms, and performance frameworks to measure specialist effectiveness, utilization, and business impact.
  • Partner with product and marketing teams to provide customer insights, support roadmap decisions, and improve product positioning and launches.
  • Serve as a strategic escalation point for complex opportunities where specialized expertise can influence outcomes.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop specialists while building the function for future growth and expansion into new product areas.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced solutions engineering leader with a strong technical foundation, proven people management skills, and the ability to build scalable customer-facing functions.

  • 8+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solution Consulting, Technical Pre-Sales, or similar customer-facing technical roles.
  • 3+ years of experience managing senior individual contributors, specialist teams, or technical customer-facing functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced degree considered a plus.
  • Strong expertise in complex B2B SaaS sales cycles, including discovery, technical validation, solution demonstrations, and value-based selling.
  • Experience with sales methodologies such as MEDDIC, MEDDPICC, Command of the Message, or similar frameworks, along with solutions engineering approaches like Demo2Win or Great Demo!.
  • Proven experience building overlay teams, subject matter expert groups, specialist motions, or shared-service field organizations.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience partnering with sales, product, marketing, operations, and customer success teams.
  • Ability to design operating models, engagement frameworks, prioritization systems, and team structures in fast-growing environments.
  • Strong executive presence, communication skills, and ability to influence senior stakeholders through data-driven insights and clear recommendations.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating new processes, metrics, and strategies from the ground up.
  • Experience with operational technology, fleet management, maintenance solutions, workforce management, payments, telematics, or related industries is a plus.
