What you'll do
We are looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer who is eager to contribute to a small, fast-paced team! Our ideal candidate will have a background in performing continuous monitoring activities under the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) as well as IT infrastructure experience including network device configuration, virtualization, and information system administration. In this role, you'll help maintain the security of ground networks supporting global satellite communication systems.
The day-to-day
This is a multidisciplinary role which provides great opportunities to learn and grow. In this role, you will be the domain expert in charge of continuous security assessment of network systems including performing vulnerability scanning, analysis, and reporting in accordance with RMF continuous monitoring practices. You will collaborate with members of our Information Assurance (IA), network engineering, and security operations center (SOC) teams, to maintain maximum visibility of the network's security posture.
- Administer the vulnerability scanning application, configure policies for a variety of systems, and develop automation for scanning and reporting
- Implement vulnerability scans, analyze results, and report findings to system owners and stakeholders
- Maintain documentation to track vulnerabilities and remediations, populate security packages, and present program security status
- Maintain system asset inventory, hardware and software lists, and ports, protocols, and services documentation
What you'll need
- 3+ years of experience in Cybersecurity Engineering, Information Assurance, secure systems/network administration, or similar discipline
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, related engineering field or equivalent years of experience
- In-depth knowledge of vulnerability scanning applications (Tenable Nessus preferred)
- Strong understanding of common types of security vulnerabilities
- Strong understanding of IP networking and secure communication protocols
- Strong understanding of router, switch, and firewall configuration basics
- Familiarity with RMF continuous monitoring activities
- Familiarity with endpoint detection and response technologies
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- US Citizenship Required
- Active United States Secret Clearance

Salary range
$117,000.00 - $185,000.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $145,000.00- $218,000.00/ annually
