As a Java Full Stack Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering scalable, resilient, and future-ready digital solutions for our Financial Services clients. Working within multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to the design, development, and evolution of modern applications that create measurable business value. This role is ideal for a collaborative engineer who is passionate about continuous learning, quality engineering, AI-enabled ways of working, and helping organisations accelerate their cloud transformation journeys.
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Your Role:
- Design and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable business applications that support client outcomes and long-term growth.
- Contribute to the development of modern cloud-native solutions that improve agility, resilience, and operational efficiency.
- Create intuitive and accessible user experiences that enhance customer and colleague engagement.
- Develop and integrate services that enable seamless communication across business capabilities and enterprise systems.
- Collaborate with architects, product teams, quality engineers, and delivery stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Champion engineering excellence by promoting quality, automation, reusability, and continuous improvement practices.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, security, availability, and reliability expectations throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Support continuous delivery and operational readiness by contributing to efficient release and deployment processes.
- Investigate and resolve complex issues, driving service stability and performance optimisation.
- Foster a future-ready engineering culture through knowledge sharing, innovation, continuous learning, and awareness of AI-enabled delivery practices.
Your Skills:
- Strong experience delivering enterprise-grade full-stack applications using Java and modern web development frameworks.
- Proven experience designing and building cloud-native, distributed, and microservices-based solutions.
- Strong understanding of backend application design, API development, security principles, and integration patterns.
- Experience developing responsive, reusable, and user-focused front-end solutions.
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including testing, code quality, version control, and continuous integration principles.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
- Solid understanding of application performance, scalability, reliability, and operational support considerations.
- Experience working with relational and/or non-relational database technologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and adopting AI-enabled practices to enhance delivery outcomes.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6), HTML5, CSS3, Redux, or Context API.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Hibernate/JPA, and REST API development.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and infrastructure-as-code practices including Terraform.
- Exposure to CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or MongoDB.
- Familiarity with Git, Maven, Gradle, SonarQube, JIRA, Splunk, or AppDynamics.
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging platforms such as Kafka.
- Exposure to API Gateway and Service Mesh technologies.
- Experience supporting cloud migration and application modernisation initiatives.
- Experience within Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance domains.
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP).
