As an Advisor I, Cybersecurity at Phillips 66, you will help protect the systems, data, and technology that support our people and businesses. This role supports day-to-day security monitoring, risk management, testing, vulnerability management, incident response, and data protection while you build a strong foundation in cybersecurity operations. You’ll work with experienced security and technology professionals to help deliver safe, reliable, and resilient digital services.

What You’ll Do

  • Support day-to-day security operations by monitoring cybersecurity measures, security controls, networks, VPNs, cloud environments, and technology systems.
  • Support cybersecurity risk management within assigned IT areas, align work with established security standards and practices, and identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and policy or regulatory concerns for escalation.
  • Supports 24x7 SOC operations with a meaningful focus on Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) and vulnerability management.
  • Triage and investigate security alerts, penetration attempts, malware or virus activity, and other incidents; isolate faults, document findings, and escalate confirmed or higher-risk activity.
  • Perform website, application, and systems or service tests; track defects, report results, and help diagnose and correct performance, integration, or user-impacting issues.
  • Support firewalls, encryption, malware protection, backup and recovery, archiving, and disaster recovery activities that protect company data and improve operational resilience.
  • Help manage cloud-based infrastructure and services, including virtual machines, networks, storage, monitoring, and security controls.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze security and operational data using established tools, methods, and formats; prepare reports, identify trends, and provide information that supports sound decisions.
  • Create and maintain clear technical and user documentation, maintain backups, communicate issues promptly, and coordinate with security experts, infrastructure owners, response teams, service providers, and other technology partners.
  • Research emerging threats, technologies, and industry practices; recommend practical improvements and continue building knowledge through training, coaching, and hands-on learning.

What You’ll Bring - Required

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1 or more years of experience with simple office or operational systems

What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred

  • Experience supporting security monitoring, alert triage, vulnerability management, or incident response activities
  • Experience with AWS cloud security, cloud monitoring, or cloud service integration
  • Experience with JIRA Software, integration testing, continuous integration testing, or test automation frameworks
  • Experience with enterprise backup systems, backup and restore solutions, data recovery, or disaster recovery software
  • Experience with data tracking and logging, data manipulation, data pipeline design, or ETL solutions
  • Ability to identify practical process improvements, learn new technology quickly, and apply established tools and techniques to new situations
  • Cybersecurity, network security, vulnerability management, secure networks and VPNs, malware protection, backup and recovery, cloud infrastructure, IT testing, technical documentation, threat assessment, and data collection and analysis

Compensation Range

This position has a base salary range of $96,300 – $117,700.
