Your Team

The Clearing Risk Product team is responsible for defining, delivering and continuously enhancing the risk platforms, models, data and business capabilities that support ASX's clearing services, ensuring they meet strategic, regulatory, operational and customer needs while maintaining the resilience of Australia's critical market infrastructure.

Your responsibilities

As a Product Owner within Clearing Risk Product, you will play a key leadership role in shaping and delivering the future state Clearing Risk ecosystem, including:

  • Defining and maintaining product strategy, roadmaps and delivery plans for Clearing Risk platforms, services and business capabilities aligned to business priorities and regulatory obligations.
  • Owning and prioritising the Clearing Risk product backlog, ensuring decisions balance customer needs, risk reduction, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance and strategic outcomes.
  • Partnering with Clearing Risk, Quantitative Analytics, Quantitative Development, Technology and Operations teams to translate business needs into clear product requirements and deliverables.
  • Leading discovery and analysis activities for new products, clearing services, risk methodologies and platform enhancements.
  • Managing product delivery across multiple initiatives, ensuring outcomes are delivered to agreed quality, scope, timelines and benefits.
  • Driving the development of future-state capabilities in areas such as margining, stress testing, liquidity risk management, exposure management, data platforms, reporting and analytics.
  • Supporting regulatory and strategic initiatives by ensuring business requirements are clearly defined, traceable, and aligned to ASX obligations and industry standards.
  • Leading engagement with a broad range of stakeholders, including business users, technology teams, consultants, customers, clearing participants and regulators.
  • Preparing papers, presentations and updates for senior management, risk forums, governance committees and Clearing House Boards as required.

Your experience and qualifications

Must have

  • 5+ years' experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, Change Delivery, Financial Markets, Risk Management or related disciplines within a financial services environment.
  • Have a firm grasp of financial risk management concepts including exposure to market, credit and liquidity risk measures.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence outcomes across business, technology, risk and executive audiences.
  • Experience managing product backlogs, requirements, prioritisation decisions and delivery outcomes within Agile and/or hybrid delivery environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify and communicate complex concepts.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into practical product requirements and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience delivering large-scale risk, regulatory, technology or market infrastructure change initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of governance papers, executive updates and business cases.
  • Academic qualifications in a quantitative or financial discipline

Nice to have

  • Product Owner, Agile, Scrum or other relevant industry certifications.
  • Knowledge of clearing, margining, stress testing, or liquidity risk management concepts.
  • Familiarity with ASX markets, derivatives products and clearing services.
  • Understanding of central counterparty activities.
  • Knowledge of the Australian financial regulatory environment
