About the Role

We are seeking an experienced L2/L3 Network Engineer to support enterprise LAN and WAN operations for a global life sciences organization in Ghent.

The role focuses on day-to-day network operations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across a multi-site international environment.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks and Cisco Meraki, and is comfortable operating across both operational support and engineering-level responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities• Support enterprise LAN and WAN operations across a multi-site environment

• Troubleshoot complex network issues across firewalls, routing, switching, wireless, VPNs, and SD-WAN
• Manage and support Palo Alto firewall configurations, including policies, NAT, VPNs, and troubleshooting
• Operate and support Cisco Meraki environments, including dashboard management, SD-WAN, switching, and wireless
• Contribute to network stability, performance, security, and continuous improvement
• Work closely with international teams and stakeholders
• Support monitoring, incident resolution, documentation, and operational best practices

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering or network support
• Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls, including:
• Security policies
• NAT
• VPNs
• Troubleshooting

• Strong experience with Cisco Meraki, including:
• Meraki Dashboard
• SD-WAN
• Switching
• Wireless

• Solid understanding of:
• TCP/IP
• DNS
• DHCP
• Routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF
• Network segmentation
• Network security principles

• Experience with WAN technologies, internet breakouts, and cloud connectivity
• Hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies
• Proven troubleshooting skills in complex, multi-site environments
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Auvik, SolarWinds, Datadog, or similar
• Comfortable working in an international environment
• Ability to provide a criminal record extract not older than three months, where required for the role

Nice to Have

• Experience with SASE platforms such as Palo Alto Prisma, Cato, or similar
• Exposure to cloud networking in Azure or AWS
• Basic knowledge of QoS, traffic shaping, and application performance
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, PCNSE, Meraki CMNA, or CMNP are considered a plus
