Aalis Management Consulting is seeking a Data Integration Engineer to support a federal agency's IT Financial Management modernization, financial systems integration, data architecture, and reporting initiatives.

The Data & Systems Integration Engineer will support the design, development, integration, and optimization of enterprise financial systems and data environments. This role will focus on connecting financial applications, improving data workflows, developing integration solutions, and ensuring accurate, reliable, and secure movement of financial information across systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting federal financial systems integration, data engineering, ETL processes, APIs, SQL development, workflow automation, and enterprise reporting solutions. The candidate should have experience working with financial management systems and translating business requirements into technical solutions.

This position requires a hands-on technical professional who can work collaboratively with financial analysts, program managers, system owners, and government stakeholders to implement practical solutions that improve financial visibility, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Support financial systems integration efforts for federal IT Financial Management and Working Capital Fund initiatives.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain data integration solutions supporting financial management operations.

• Develop and manage data pipelines, interfaces, and workflows connecting enterprise systems.

• Analyze system requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.

• Support integration between financial, operational, and reporting platforms.

• Develop ETL processes to extract, transform, and load financial data from multiple sources.

• Perform data mapping, validation, cleansing, and reconciliation activities.

• Develop and maintain APIs, data interfaces, and system connections.

• Support integration with federal financial and business systems, including:

• Delphi

• PRISM

• Oracle EPM

• Oracle IMPACT

• ServiceNow

• Collaborate with financial analysts and business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements.

• Develop technical documentation including:

• System design documents

• Interface specifications

• Data dictionaries

• Process documentation

• User guides

• Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of data and integration issues.

• Implement data quality controls, validation processes, and audit trails.

• Support automation of manual financial processes through technology solutions.

• Assist with dashboard development and reporting integrations using Power BI and other analytics platforms.

• Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, testing, demonstrations, and documentation.

• Ensure solutions align with federal cybersecurity, data governance, and compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting data engineering, systems integration, or enterprise application development.

• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining data integrations or interfaces.

• Experience with:

• SQL development

• Data extraction and transformation

• Data validation

• System interfaces

• Database concepts

• Experience supporting enterprise financial, business, or operational systems.

• Experience gathering technical requirements and translating business needs into technical solutions.

• Experience in troubleshooting system integration issues and coordinating technical resolutions.

• Experience creating technical documentation and supporting system implementation activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Federal government or federal contractor experience.

• Experience supporting federal financial management systems.

• Experience integrating financial systems with reporting and analytics platforms.

• Experience supporting Working Capital Fund or IT Financial Management environments.
