We’re growing fast on our mission to be the employer of choice in hospitality, everywhere we operate – so this an exciting time to hop on board.

From the freshly hand-made food we create every day, to supporting our teams, we help our people grow in confidence, skills and to pursue their unique paths. Pret is where passionate, hardworking, wonderful people (like you!) find what they need to shine. And the proof is in the pudding – over 80% of our Managers started on the shop floor! So did 20% of our Support Centre teams, including our CEO, Pano.

About the Programme

This role sits within Pret's Global Data & Systems function and is a critical hire for our 9month "Go Faster" data modernisation programme. The programme will replatform Pret's data and reporting estate onto Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran and a modern Azure-based integration stack, while retiring legacy MSSQL warehouses. The pace is fast, the scope is broad (UK, US, Hong Kong and France markets), and the expectations of the leadership team are high. We are hiring people who thrive on that.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for passionate team players to bring joy to our customers every day. As a Business Analyst you’ll Business Analysts on the "Go Faster" programme are the bridge between Pret's business teams (Finance, Operations, HR, Digital, Marketing) and the data engineering, reporting and integrations workstreams. You will own the requirements, translate them into clear specifications the engineering team can act on, and run the user acceptance testing that gives the business confidence to switch to the new platform.

Reporting to the Project Manager with a strong working line to the Reporting Lead and Engineering Delivery Lead, you will work closely with senior business stakeholders to understand what they need, with the technical teams to make it real, and with the QA / Test Engineers to make sure it's right.

Key responsibilities

  • Engage with senior business stakeholders across Finance, Operations, HR, Digital and Marketing to understand their data and reporting needs.

  • Document requirements clearly – as user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows or data definitions, depending on what works for the consumer.

  • Translate business requirements into clear specifications the data engineering, integrations and reporting teams can act on, including data definitions, source-to-target mappings, business rules and edge cases.

  • Work with the Reporting Catalogue Lead to keep the metric catalogue accurate and complete as new datasets and metrics come online.

  • Run user acceptance testing (UAT) with business stakeholders, including planning, scripts, defect tracking and sign-off.

  • Maintain process documentation for changes to business processes that come with new data / reporting capability.

  • Partner with the QA / Test Engineers to ensure technical and business testing align.

  • Communicate progress, blockers and decisions clearly to both technical and business audiences.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies for the workstream you're aligned to.

  • Be the first responder for business-side questions about new data / reports.

Experience and Skills required

  • Experience running UAT cycles in a structured way: test plans, scripts, defect tracking, sign-off.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to operate credibly with senior business stakeholders and with engineers.

  • Demonstrable ability to engage with ambiguity – translate "I need a number for the board" into a concrete, testable specification.

  • Comfortable working in Agile sprint-based delivery in a fast-paced environment.

  • Right to work in the UK without sponsorship

Desirable

  • Experience with Power BI as a downstream consumer of data.

  • Experience with Snowflake or another modern cloud data warehouse.
