Job Summary:
Supermicro is seeking a highly skilled Senior Solutions Architect to join our team. This role will focus on providing expert technical leadership for Ethernet switching solutions, with strong emphasis on data center networking and AI/HPC cluster infrastructure. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, supporting both pre-sales technical inquiries and post-sales deployment and issue resolution for switch platforms.
This role will be based in our headquarters, located in San Jose, CA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary technical interface for customers on switch-related solutions, supporting pre-sales inquiries, solution design, deployment, and issue escalation
- Lead/support the development, integration, validation, and customer support of next-generation CPO (Co-Packaged Optics) and photonics-based networking systems, including high-speed SI/PI, thermal co-design, optical diagnostics, and AI fabric optimization
- Lead on-site and remote troubleshooting of complex issues involving hardware, firmware, NOS (SONiC and/or Cumulus Linux), optics, cabling, and interoperability
- Perform root-cause analysis and coordinate cross-functional debugging efforts with internal hardware, firmware, software teams, and ASIC vendors
- Support customer rack integration, network configuration, validation, and production deployment activities
- Develop and execute customer acceptance testing, interoperability validation, and deployment readiness procedures
- Utilize advanced Linux and network diagnostic tools to analyze logs, traffic behavior, latency, link stability, and overall system performance
- Create high-quality technical documentation, deployment guides, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledge-based articles
- Deliver technical training and enablement sessions to customers, partners, and internal support teams
- Own technical escalation management for critical customer issues and field support activities
- Provide pre-sales technical support by responding to RFPs, presenting solutions, and participating in technical discussions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (Master’s preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in Solutions Architecture, Technical Support, or Field Application Engineering roles focused on networking and data center solutions
- Deep understanding of Ethernet switching, data center networking, and AI/HPC cluster infrastructure
- Strong hands-on experience with networking switch products, Cumulus Linux, and large-scale data center deployment environments
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting complex networking issues involving hardware, firmware, and software integration
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer-facing skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously
Salary Range
$165,000 - $180,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
