We are currently seeking a Cybersecurity Intern to join our Cybersecurity team for a six-month internship.
The Cybersecurity Intern will work closely with members of the Cybersecurity team and assist with recurring operational activities, reporting, monitoring, and security improvement initiatives. The successful candidate is not expected to be an experienced cybersecurity professional; however, they should have a strong interest in cybersecurity, basic technical knowledge, a willingness to learn, and good attention to detail.
The internship will provide exposure to cybersecurity technologies and processed used within a professional enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities
Security Awareness & Phishing
• Assist with the planning, preparation, and execution of cybersecurity awareness initiatives, including Security Awareness Month.
• Help develop cybersecurity awareness communications, educational materials, and employee engagement activities.
• Assist with the initial review of employee-reported phishing and malicious emails.
• Review phishing submissions using available security tools and processes and escalate suspicious or higher-risk cases to Cybersecurity team members.
• Help maintain records and reporting related to phishing and security awareness activities.
Cybersecurity Governance, Metrics & Reporting
• Assist with collecting, validating, and maintaining Cybersecurity Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and supporting data.
• Help keep Cybersecurity dashboards and reporting current.
• Identify opportunities to improve the quality, consistency, and usefulness of cybersecurity reporting.
• Assist with identifying additional metrics that could provide useful visibility into cybersecurity activities and risk.
• Support opportunities to automate recurring KPI and reporting activities where appropriate.
• Assist with documentation and other cybersecurity governance activities as required.
Security Operations Support
• Assist with the initial review and triage of lower-complexity cybersecurity alerts and incidents.
• Gain hands-on exposure to security monitoring technologies such as Microsoft Sentinel.
• Perform basic investigation and information gathering following established procedures and guidance from Cybersecurity team members.
• Escalate incidents requiring deeper technical investigation or response.
• Help maintain appropriate documentation related to security alerts and investigations.
The level of involvement in security incident triage will depend on the successful candidate’s technical knowledge and progress during the internship.
Endpoint Security, Intune & Compliance
• Assist with endpoint security and compliance activities for corporate laptops and mobile devices.
• Support activities within Microsoft Intune and related endpoint management and security technologies.
• Review security and vulnerability scan results and help identify outdated or vulnerable software.
• Assist with tracking and remediation of identified endpoint security issues.
• Support software deployment updates and related endpoint configurations.
• Assist with reviewing and implementing endpoint security configuration settings and compliance controls.
• Help investigate endpoint compliance issues and maintain supporting documentation.

Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a college or university program in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Basic understanding of general IT and cybersecurity concepts gained through coursework, labs, projects, or other learning experiences
- Strong interest in cybersecurity and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
