The incumbent will be responsible for the following, in alignment with the Division Discipline Engineering Director's guidance:
Budget:
- Responsible for Mechatronics Discipline Budget Execution within the entity ensuring alignment with the division budget allocation and strategic priorities.
- Accountable for Discipline Budget Performance within Projects: Track and analyze budget performance within projects, identifying and addressing deviations proactively.
- Quotation and Workload: Lead Mechatronics quotation for projects, utilizing division tools and contributing to workload databases for relevant product families and maturity levels.
- Investment Management: Manage Mechatronics investment budget, standardizing investments (equipment, licenses, etc.) with division agreements and optimizing the Systematic Rate of Return.
- Resource Management: Control monthly Mechatronics headcount (internal/external) using division monitoring tools and implement corrective actions for deviations.
Support Operations:
- Resource allocation: Manage the allocation of Mechatronics resources across projects and platforms within the entity.
- Responsible for Mechatronics Discipline QCD Management within the entity: Ensure the quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of Mechatronics designs.
- Ensure compliance with Mechatronics Discipline Methodology: Implement and enforce adherence to standardized methodologies, best practices, and KPIs for the Mechatronics discipline, as defined by the Group/Division, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all projects within the entity.
- Responsible for design solutions and reuse: Oversee Mechatronics design solutions for projects and platforms, promoting the reuse of functional and solution elements from the discipline capitalization. Contribute to the resolution of critical project issues, leveraging the expertise of Mechatronics experts.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze electronic operations through Group Mechatronics dashboards, monitoring monthly KPIs.
- Technical Design Reviews: Oversee Technical Design Reviews conducted by Mechatronics reviewers.
Competencies:
- Responsible for Mechatronics Discipline Skills Assessment & Training Plan: Conduct regular skills assessments (CVM) of the Mechatronics team within the entity and develop tailored training plans to address competency gaps and support career development, aligning with the Division's expertise roadmap.
- Mechatronics Expertise Development: Contribute to the division's Mechatronics Expertise Development Plan (XDP) by identifying and consolidating expert needs within the entity.
- Responsible for Mechatronics Discipline QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control): Implement and manage the QRQC process for the Mechatronics discipline within the entity, ensuring rapid identification and resolution of technical issues and continuous improvement in project execution.
- Standardization and Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to the division's standardization committee, deploying and updating Group/Division methods, standards, and tools within the entity.
- Technical Reviewer Certification: Support the certification process for technical Mechatronics reviewers
Efficiency:
- Responsible for Mechatronics Discipline Efficiency Plan: Develop, implement, and monitor the entity's efficiency plan for the Mechatronics discipline, aligning with the Division's overall efficiency goals and adapting them to the specific needs and context of the entity.
- Embrace Digital Transformation: Champion the adoption of digital tools and technologies within the entity to enhance Mechatronics efficiency, including areas like EDA, generative design, simulation, and digital continuity.
Innovation:
- Contribute to the Division Mechatronics Discipline Technology Roadmap (DTR): Actively participate in the development and implementation of the Division's technology roadmap by providing input, identifying opportunities for innovation within the entity, and adapting the roadmap to the specific needs and context of the entity.
- Contribute to Proof-of-Concept Projects: Support the execution of proof-of-concept projects related to new technologies and innovative solutions within the Mechatronics domain.
- Promote Patent Watch and Filing: Encourage and support patent watch activities and patent filing for innovative solutions developed within the division.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with academic institutions, research organizations, and key suppliers to drive innovation and explore funding opportunities.
