Description: The QA & Test Engineer will lead quality assurance, automated data reconciliation testing, and Section 508 accessibility compliance for enterprise software and data lakehouse modernization initiatives. This role is responsible for authoring comprehensive test plans, conducting automated reconciliation checks across complex database environments, and performing accessibility evaluations to ensure compliance with federal standards. Working closely with government stakeholders and engineering teams, the ideal candidate will lead formal test reviews, execute live demonstration testing, and validate system readiness for production deployment.
QA & Test Engineer Job Duties:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive Test Plans covering developmental, functional, limited user, high availability/failover, and operational testing.
- Lead Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) and present formal test results at Production Readiness Reviews (PRR) with government stakeholders.
- Design, build, and execute automated data reconciliation test scripts validating 100% migration accuracy, including schema matching, row count assertions, primary key integrity, and aggregate statistical comparisons.
- Perform Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility testing using both automated scanning tools and manual assistive technology techniques.
- Author formal test deliverables, including Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs), Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs), and Final Test Reports.
- Conduct face-to-face usability testing with end users and validate system performance under realistic workload conditions.
- Execute live automated reconciliation scripts during system acceptance demonstrations and validate post-deployment production environments.
- Track defects and manage testing workflows using enterprise test management platforms.
- Participate actively in all Agile ceremonies and contribute to the final project documentation package.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Public Trust / Tier 4 Eligible: No clearance required to apply; must be a U.S. citizen willing to undergo a background check to obtain a Public Trust / Tier 4 clearance.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum experience required varies by degree level: PhD with 0 years; Master's degree with 3 years; Bachelor's degree with 5 years; or High School Diploma with 9 years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience with automated test development and execution tools (e.g., pytest, Selenium, SoapUI) and SQL-based data validation queries.
- Working knowledge of Section 508 standards and WCAG 2.1 AA criteria, alongside experience with automated accessibility tools (axe, WAVE, Lighthouse).
- Demonstrated experience authoring formal test plans, test cases, and test completion reports in an Agile environment using Jira or Azure DevOps.
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Desired Skills / Qualifications:
- DHS Section 508 Trusted Tester certification or formal QA certifications (ISTQB, CSTE).
- Experience with testing data platforms, data warehouses, or Databricks/Spark environments.
- Hands-on experience with screen readers and assistive technology testing (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) and producing ACRs/VPATs.
- Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling) and CI/CD-integrated test automation pipelines.

Schedule: Day shift, Monday–Friday
Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long durations of time. Also, must be able to continuously operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
