Technical Writer II

Work Environment:

Hybrid work arrangement with a combination of onsite and remote support.

Occasional travel may be required based on project needs.

 

 

Summary:

We are seeking a Technical Writer II to develop, revise, and maintain technical and administrative documentation that supports operational processes, systems, and organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will be skilled at transforming technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for a variety of audiences.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, edit, and maintain technical manuals, reports, procedures, proposals, guides, and supporting documentation.
  • Gather and verify information from technical documents, subject matter experts, specifications, and other source materials.
  • Organize and present content in accordance with established standards for clarity, consistency, accuracy, and style.
  • Review and update documentation to reflect process, system, or procedural changes.
  • Maintain document version control and revision histories.
  • Develop and incorporate charts, diagrams, illustrations, and other visual aids to support written materials.
  • Assist with document formatting, publication, distribution, and document management activities.
  • Collaborate with technical and operational teams to ensure documentation remains current and accurate.
  • Support the development of procedural, operational, and training-related materials.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance required.
  • Strong technical writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and organized manner.
  • Experience working with technical documentation, specifications, diagrams, or procedural materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and documentation management tools.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting government, defense, engineering, manufacturing, or technical environments.
  • Familiarity with technical drawings, schematics, specifications, or operational procedures.
  • Experience creating user guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), or training materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines.
